The story
Officially the Ferrari Enzo Ferrari, it is the spiritual successor to the 288 GTO, F40 and F50, and just 349 were to be built. Its V-12 displaces 6.0 liters and makes 650 hp at 7,800 rpm and 485 lb-ft, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed automated manual shifted only by carbon-fiber paddles. Curb weight in Car and Driver’s test was 3,262 pounds.
Car and Driver’s first drive listed a 218-mph top speed; its instrumented test at Fiorano recorded 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and a quarter-mile of 11.2 seconds at 136 mph (its spec sheet lists a redline-limited 209 mph, manufacturer estimate). The test car’s price was $659,430.
